Robin Moore died Sunday evening March 14, 2021. He was a regular dancer in Reconnect dance classes and a performer in the Art as Action Dance Company. We’ll remember Robin—how he loved us and how he was beloved by us. We held a virtual service to remember Robin and recognize his resilient, enthusiastic and joyful spirit, you can watch the recording here:
Remembering Robin
by Reconnect Dancers
Compiled and Crafted by Jan Leversee
Robin slipped into our midst stole our hearts and left us forever changed
Small gestures cracking open my heart
Sweet and dear: dancing and being in his presence
A twinkle in his eye, always something kind or funny to say
a lightness of spirit when we danced–Parkinson’s could not extinguish
Talk about a ray of sunshine
He belonged and was comfortable in his belonging
Brought a smile, and a lightness in my heart
A gentle soul. I use his traits to improve my own self.
He called men blokes.
After my surgery, he would always ask how my foot was doing.
I loved my conversations with him.
Arriving a bit early, we’d just talk about “things.
We attended the LOUD class and we bantered–using our LOUD voices.
He found humor in his Lewy Body Dementia calling it “Lewy”.
He loved to watch the Artivist process as the show was created—said he’d never seen anything like it.
Our conversation went like this: “Hi, my name is Robin and even with a name like Robin I’m a boy! Hi, I’m Fredde and even with a name like Fredde I’m a girl!” We both laughed and I indeed felt welcomed!
I am so sad
I will miss him greatly in dance class.
What a gift we were blessed with.
I will always remember your beautiful smile!!! Thanks so much for coming into my life.
His light lingers…
Dance on, sweet friend.
video collage of Robin’s dance journey
Robin danced with abandon and brought light and humor to every space he entered. We were so lucky to know him and to have him be such a devoted member of the Art as Action/Reconnect family. Robin experienced dance as life and lived life as a dance. We miss him so much.
