Postcards from Reconnect: Meet the Artivist Leadership Team

Postcards from Reconnect

This “postcard” series will help you to get to know our Reconnect dancers. In this first round, you’ll meet the dancers who make up our Artivist Leadership Team as they tell us:
“Reconnect takes me to a place where…”

Leann Roberts
Leann is  a dancer, songwriter and a musician who has graced Art as Action with her powerful lyrics, vocals, and guitar playing in addition to her leadership role. Leann’s grounding and generous spirit is a gift.

Wayne Gilbert
Wayne is a poet, dancer, and introspective thinker who never fails to bring some food for thought to the table. He is an educator and lifelong learner that sparks curiosity in us all and inspires us to dig deeper.

Jan Leversee
Jan is a dancer, writer, and thoughtful facilitator of many excellent conversations. Jan always knows what to say, what questions to ask, and is our resident “bus” driver that makes sure everyone can make it to Reconnect class with ease.

Amy Dressel-Martin
Amy is a dancer and writer with a remarkable gift for imagery. Amy’s gentle delivery of her compelling writing is an invaluable part of our community. Amy regularly takes Reconnect classes and added, “Reconnect takes me to a place where perfection is left at the door and there is no judgment – not even my own.”

our mission

Art as Action brings people together at the intersection of dance, (dis)ability and creative potential.

19 years of Artivism

Art as Action was founded in 2002 to be a collaborative collective of Artivists— which we define as champions and ambassadors of the communal, universal, and healing language of art. Artivism emboldens the distinct, rare creativity deep within each individual.

OUR MISSION: Art as Action brings people together at the intersection of dance, (dis)ability and creative potential.
