It was such a wonderful experience to share the magic of Reconnect with Boulder’s dance community! The Reconnect Dancers performed at “Open Space” (presented by 3rd Law Dance/Theater) at Dairy Arts Center on May 26, 2017.  Wayne performed his poem inspired by Reconnect entitled lady gaga n me.

except for the leap from the stadium roof
except for the high-flying acrobatics
except for the professional musicians working their asses off
except for a troupe of young athletic high-tech dancers
except for a medley of rockin’ hit songs
except for the wild eccentric costumes
except for the super bowl crowd the other billions watching on tv
except for talent and beauty enough to sail a thousand ships
except for not actually being born this way but having taken decades to finally arrive
i’m just like lady gaga when i dance oh yes i am

especially me and my tribe with and without parkinson’s
each emerging from beneath the stage into the light sarah designs for us
each forgetting herself     killing the choreography sarah prepared just for us
each a full-blown gaga pop-star diva having too much fun in our own half-time show
