A collaborative dance / poetry / music / visualArt performance

TICKETS ON SALE JANUARY 5, 2009
THE IDENTITY CRISIS
Like past Art as Action shows, The Identity Crisis is a collaborative performance premiering a collection of innovative pieces by our talented ensemble of choreographers, writers, musicians and visual artists. All of these pieces explore the theme of The Identity Crisis: the personal and social impact of what we believe and how it aligns, or conflicts, with the action we take.

The Identity Crisis is the sixth full evening production by Art as Action since its inception in 2002. These productions are the root of Art as Action's existence, all of the organization's other activities and events contribute to "the big show", as the cast lovingly refers to it. Working towards a culmination of our collaborative efforts keeps the organization energized in every aspect, from weekly rehearsals, to fundraising and outreach efforts. It is our greatest contribution to the community to share our art and activism through a collaborative performance, and the community's greatest contribution to us to motivate us to create and perform the very work that is inherent in our artivist (artist+activist) selves. This performance epitomizes our mission: to use the power of collaborative art to create social change.
